DJI Ronin RS 2 Pro

After DJI launched their first handheld gimbals Ronin-SC and the larger Ronin-S, they are now ready with the next edition of the Ronin family: RS 2 and RS 2 Pro. The new gimbals come with arms in carbon, mounts for remote and iPhone and more upgraded features.

With a professional video camera on a handheld gimbal you have a really solid solution if you want to make movies where you combine e.g. drone footage from a Inspire 2 handheld recordings. You can read more about the quality from Inspire 2's X7 camera.

3 USB-C ports

The RS 2 is equipped with 3 USB-C ports on the main handle, and allows for the connection of 3 devices at the same time. It can be seen that one USB port can be connected to the camera, one connected to DJI Focus and the last to DJI's new RavenEye for wireless transfer and sharing of recording.

RS 2 with Scroll Wheels

RS 2 is also equipped with a new scroll wheel on the front. It would be delicious if the scroll wheel could be used for zoom or focus adjustment, so we cross our fingers too.

Display

The new gimbal has now built in a display for easier control. DJI's competitors have long had a built-in display on their gimbals as it quickly gives the user a visual way to change gimbal and camera settings without the need to use the app on his phone.

New Mounts for RS 2

The addition of the new Image Transmission Module, RavenEye, allows RS 2 to now be mounted in places where it was previously difficult or impossible to use. In DJI's official branding photos, RS 2 is seen on the cooler of a car without the battery, which is connected via a cable. The new RS 2 gimbal can also be mounted on a crane, cable slider and a normal slider and it can of course also be used with two hands and in underslung mode.

DJI has previously pushed the launch of RS 2 and RS 2 Pro from its original date in September, but the is now expected to be launched on 20 October 2020. We will certainly sit ready for presentation of the new gimbals and order them as soon as possible. We hope to have time to make a review video of an RS 2 Pro shortly after which we naturally post here.
